Experience the clash between ice and fire, and meet friendly trolls and elves, a howling werewolf and his pack, magnificent flying horses, majestic reindeer, a kind rock giant, an awe-inspiring giant, and a cool ice queen. Alongside several trendy dragons and a four-meter-tall phoenix, they rise up at ZOO Planckendael.
Practical Information
The “Dragons of the North” light festival is open from Thursday to Sunday, from 25 October 2024 until 5 January 2025. During the autumn and Christmas holidays, the festival is open daily, except on 24 and 31 December. The light festival closes at 10:00 pm.

COMBINATION TICKET PRICES
Would you like to combine a visit to the light festival with a day at ZOO Planckendael? You can! Between the closing time of ZOO Planckendael and the opening time of the light festival, you can grab a bite at Restaurant Toepaja, which will remain open longer than usual. Please note that the kitchen closes half an hour before the light festival begins. Afterwards, head to the light festival entrance at your selected time slot with your admission ticket.

ACCESSIBILITY ZOO PLANCKENDAEL
ZOO Planckendael is located in a peaceful, green area in Mechelen and is easily accessible. If you are travelling by car, you can reach the zoo conveniently via the motorway. It’s only a 25-minute drive from Antwerp and just 20 minutes from Brussels.
Parking: During the light festival, you can park at a discounted rate of €6, valid from the start of the festival until the park closes at 10:00 pm. Parking tickets are available on-site.
